New Arapahoe/Douglas Works! and Right On Learning Mentoring Services!

Arapahoe/Douglas Works! will partner with Right On Learning to identify appropriate and eligible participants, 16 and older, for referral to ROL’s mentoring services. ROL’s mentoring program has the goal of building positive relationships with referred participants, creating sustainable and manageable plans for success, and completing objectives that lead to successful outcomes.

We primarily uses the “Check and Connect” intervention strategy as the rubric for creating a mentoring plan. This methodology integrates accountability and strategy components.  Mentors will monitor all data points that account for successful outcomes; these may include, but are not limited to, grades, work performance, stress indicators, and family life. Habits and choices will be evaluated to determine opportunities for improvement. Achievement plans and milestones for success will be created and adjusted, as needed and appropriate, based on participant performance. Participant plans will include individual tasks that need to be completed between meetings to help encourage accountability and self-reliance.

Mentors will be flexible with the timing of meetings as well as the location in order to keep barriers at a minimum. They will be required to record a summarization of each mentoring session, which may include, but is not limited to, the topics discussed, the duration, gaps in learning, and any additional information as necessary or requested.  We will share information, as needed and requested, to ensure collaboration and successful outcomes.
